Renesas Electronics Network Gateway for Bluetooth® Low Energy Mesh

Renesas Electronics Network Gateway for BLUETOOTH® Low Energy Mesh has an RZ/G2L microprocessor (MPU) with dual-core Arm® Cortex®-A55. The Renesas gateway has Wi-Fi and BLUETOOTH Low Energy (LE) connectivity features. The device receives sensor data from the sensor nodes using BLUETOOTH LE mesh technology. All the sensor data is locally stored and/or streamed to the cloud for remote monitoring. Sensor device health conditions are checked, and alarms/events can be triggered. The gateway has a display provision for a user interface to operate in standalone mode.

Features

  • RZ/G2L MPU embedded with an Arm Cortex-A55 core, 1.2GHz frequency, and supports Civil Infrastructure Platform Linux (CIP Linux)
  • Ultra-low power Wi-Fi® system-on-chip (SoC) for wireless network connectivity supporting IEEE 802.11b/g/n specification, operating at 2.4GHz
  • High-performance, power efficient, high-throughput, and long-range BLUETOOTH chip, compliant with BLUETOOTH Low Energy 5.0 specification, supporting mesh
  • Single PMIC chip meeting all the power requirements: high performance, stable and configurable
  • Alarm and LED notification, standalone and online mode, local storage, device provisioning and configuration settings, and secure communication

Applications

  • BLUETOOTH LE sensor hub
  • IoT gateway
  • Industrial gateway
  • Human-machine interface (HMI)
  • Single board computers (SBC)
