Texas Instruments bq76940EVM Evaluation Module is a populated circuit board for evaluating the bq76940 analog front-end (AFE) and the bq78350 Battery Management Controller. This module serves as part of a complete pack monitoring and protection solution for 9- to 15-series Lithium Ion, Lithium iron phosphate, and other battery chemistries.

The Texas Instruments bq76940EVM Evaluation Module provides a complete environment to evaluate register control of the AFE or the controller configuration and demonstrate current control of a battery system when used with an EV2400 interface adapter and appropriate evaluation software.

Required Equipment

  • DC power supply, 0-44V (bq76930EVM) or 0-66V (bq76940EVM) at 0.5A for the AFE, 2.5A for the gauge
  • DC voltmeter
  • TI EV2300 or EV2400 interface board
  • Computer with USB port and compatible Windows operating system and access to the internet
  • Test leads to connect equipment
  • Electronic load or assorted resistors calibrated load or load with an accurate current meter required for gauge evaluation
  • Additional equipment may be desired to operate the bq769x0 with a more extensive demonstration
