WIZnet W5100S/W6100-EVB-Pico2 Evaluation Boards

WIZnet W5100S/W6100-EVB-Pico2 Evaluation Boards are based on the Raspberry Pi RP2350 and fully hardwired TCP/IP controllers W5100S and W6100. These boards enhance the capabilities of the traditional Raspberry Pi Pico board with additional Ethernet functionality via W5100S and W6100. The W5100S/W6100-EVB-Pico2 boards feature a 12-bit 500ksps Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), 3 x Programmable IO (PIO) blocks, and 12 state machines total. These boards provide One-Time Programmable (OTP) memory, secure boot, and Arm® TrustZone® technology. The W5100S/W6100-EVB-Pico2 evaluation boards include a built-in switch-mode DC-DC converter.

  • RP2350 Microcontroller with integrated 16Mbit Flash:
    • Symmetrical dual Arm® Cortex®-M33 cores at up to 150MHz
    • 520kByte multi-bank high-performance SRAM
    • External Quad-SPI Flash with eXecute In Place (XIP) capabilities
    • Enhanced performance full-crossbar bus fabric
    • Up to 48 multi-function general-purpose IO (8 can be used for ADC on RP2350-B), 1.8V to 5V IO voltage
  • Security:
    • One-Time Programmable (OTP) memory: Used for boot configuration and secure key storage
    • Secure boot: Ensures that only authenticated software can run on the device, utilizing OTP for key verification
    • Arm® TrustZone® technology: Provides hardware isolation between secure and non-secure software, enhancing security for critical applications
  • Analog and digital peripherals:
    • 12-bit 500ksps Analog to Digital Converter (ADC)
    • 2 x UART, 2 x I2C, 2 x SPI, and 16 x PWM channels
    • 1 x timer with 4 alarms, 1 x real time counter
    • 3 x Programmable IO (PIO) blocks, 12 state machines total
    • Flexible, user-programmable high-speed IO
    • Can emulate interfaces such as SD card and VGA
  • W6100 Ethernet controller:
    • Supports hardwired internet protocols: TCP, UDP, IPv6, IPv4, ICMPv6, ICMPv4, IGMP, MLDv1, ARP, and PPPoE
    • Supports 8 independent SOCKETs simultaneously with 32KB memory
    • Internal 16Kbytes memory for TX/ RX buffers
    • SPI interface
  • W5100S Ethernet controller:
    • Supports hardwired internet protocols: TCP, UDP, WOL over UDP, ICMP, IGMPv1/v2, IPv4, ARP, and PPPoE
    • Supports 4 independent hardware SOCKETs simultaneously
    • Internal 16Kbytes memory for TX/ RX buffers
    • High-speed Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI MODE 0, 3)
  • Connectivity:
    • Type-C® USB port for power and data (and for reprogramming the Flash)
    • 40-pin 21x51 'DIP' style 1mm thick PCB with 0.1" through-hole pins also with edge castellations
    • 3-pin Arm Serial Wire Debug (SWD) port
