Renesas Electronics EK-RA4W1 Evaluation Kit for RA4W1 MCU

Renesas Electronics EK-RA4W1 Evaluation Kit enables users to seamlessly evaluate the features of the RA4W1 32-Bit Microcontroller (MCU), which features integrated BLUETOOTH® 5.0 Low Energy (BLE). Users can develop embedded systems applications using the Flexible Software Package (FSP) and e2 studio Integrated Development Environment (IDE). The included EK-RA4W1 Board features a pre-mounted RA4W1 MCU, a USB interface that can connect to a PC, an on-board debugger, and connections for expansion options.

Flexible Software Package

The Renesas RA Flexible Software Package (FSP) provides a quick and versatile way to build secure connected IoT devices using the Renesas RA Family of Arm microcontrollers. FSP provides production-ready peripheral drivers, FreeRTOS, and middleware stacks to take advantage of the FSP ecosystem.

Required Equipment

  • Micro USB cable (not included)
  • A PC with at least 1 USB port
  • A smartphone with the following OS and the smartphone App "GATTBrowser"
    • iOS version 9.0 or later
    • Android 5.0.1 or later
  • Windows® 10 operating system
  • USB Serial Drivers (included in Windows 10)
  • Tera Term (or similar) terminal console application
  • SEGGER J-Link® firmware
