Analog Devices Inc. ADPL40502 Low Noise LDO Linear Regulators

Analog Devices ADPL40502 Low Noise, Low Dropout (LDO) Linear Regulators operate from 2.2V to 5.5V and provide up to 200mA output current. The low 150mV dropout voltage at a 200mA load allows operation over a wide input voltage range and improves efficiency.

Using an innovative circuit topology, the ADPL40502 achieves low noise performance without a bypass capacitor, making the device ideal for RF applications and noise-sensitive analog. The regulators also achieve low noise performance without compromising the power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) or transient load/line performance. The low 290μA operating supply current at a 200mA load makes the ADPL40502 suitable for battery-operated portable equipment.

The ADPL40502 includes an internal pull-down resistor on the EN input. It is specifically designed for stable operation with tiny 1μF, ±30% ceramic output and input capacitors to meet the requirements of high-performance, space-constrained applications. The ADPL40502 can have seven fixed output voltage options, ranging from 1.2V to 3.3V.

Thermal and short-circuit overload protection circuits prevent damage in adverse conditions. The Analog Devices ADPL40502 is available in a tiny 5-lead TSOT or a 6-lead 2mm x 2mm LFCSP package for a small footprint solution to meet various portable power application requirements.
