Microchip Technology PAC1934 DC Power Monitor Evaluation Board
Microchip Technology PAC1934 DC Power Monitor Evaluation Board (ADM00805) is a demonstration and development platform for the PAC1934 Power Monitor IC (PMIC). The PAC193 is a 4-channel, bidirectional, high-side current-sensing device with precision voltage measurement capabilities, DSP for power calculation, and a power accumulator. The PAC193 measures the voltage developed across an external sense resistor (VSENSE) to represent the high-side current of a battery or voltage regulator. The device has an I2C/SMBus interface for output and digital control. The Microchip Technology PAC1934 Evaluation Board features onboard current sense resistors for current sensing and a USB connector to connect to a computer for device communication. The evaluation board facilitates direct I2C communication by connecting VDD_IO, Ground, Serial Data (SDA), and Serial Clock (SCL) to an external source such as a PC motherboard or Linux system. The ADM00805 Board's shorting shunts enable demonstration of the device functions using either onboard current sources or external sources.
The PAC1934 device mounted on the board is a flexible platform for evaluating and demonstrating the features of the device. This device enables direct control of all device pins and easy measurements of onboard or external voltages and currents. The PAC1934 device may be powered directly by VBUS from the USB connector or by an external connection to VDD.
