Infineon Technologies iMOTION IMC100 High-Performance Motor Control ICs
Infineon Technologies iMOTION™ IMC100 High-Performance Motor Control ICs integrate the hardware and algorithm for a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). The IMC100 ICs control variable speed drives and provide a short time to market for motor systems at a low system and development cost. Infineon's patented and field-proven Motion Control Engine (MCE) implements Field Oriented Control (FOC). This is achieved using single or leg shunt current feedback and uses space vector PWM with sinusoidal signals to attain high-energy efficiency.
The IMC100 ICs feature a hardware platform with a comprehensive set of innovative analog and motor control peripherals. This next-generation MCE further improves the performance of the control algorithm and adds functionality like sensor support for accurate rotor positioning, ready-to-use PFC algorithms, and faster host interface options. The IMC100 is offered in device variants ranging from single motor control to motor control plus PFC. All devices can be used in applications requiring compliance with IEC 60335 (Class B). The IMC100 is designed for highly efficient variable speed drives.
