Polymer Hermetic Seal (PHS) Capacitors

KEMET Polymer Hermetic Seal (PHS) Capacitors are tantalum capacitors with axial through hole and SMD mounting options. These capacitors include a conductive organic polymer that offers low ESR and improved capacitance retention at low temperature and high frequency. The PHS capacitors demonstrate a benign failure mode, which removes the breach case that can occur in wet tantalum capacitors. Typical applications include buck/boost converters, power supplies, and hold-up capacitors.
