These capacitors are constructed using an aluminum anode and a cathode made from a conductive electrolyte, allowing them to store a significant amount of energy in a small form factor. AECs offer long life, high ripple current handling, and low impedance. ENYCAP™ Evaluation Board

Vishay / BC Components ENYCAP™ Evaluation Board is a fully transparent power management solution with a regulated 2W output and integrated power backup. It provides a DC/DC regulator with a wide power input range from 4.0V to 20V and adjustable regulated output between 3.3V and 5.0V. The integrated supercapacitor charger and backup boost regulator are optimized for use with ENYCAP supercapacitors as a backup energy storage device. The LTC3355 power management unit provides the supercapacitor with a programmable constant charging current from 35mA to 600mA and a regulated cut-off voltage of 1.8V to 3.2V. When the power input fails, the backup boost regulator supplies regulated output voltage until the charged energy of the supercapacitor is depleted. Power good and related control signals are available.
