Mill-Max 0448/0640 Pin Receptacles feature no-tail receptacles (0448) and press-fit receptacles for Plated Through Hole (PTH) (0640) that are fitted with a beryllium copper-contact clip. An early engagement contact point, dual entry capability, low contact resistance, and high current carrying capacity characterize this contact clip. The 0448/0640 pin receptacles feature a 30% reduction in the required lead length than the usual receptacle offerings. This reduction is due to the hourglass design and extended contact area that eliminates the need for excess protrusion through its fingers for reliable electrical contact. Using shorter mating pins provides several advantages, such as compressed packaging, shorter electrical signal paths, and lower potential RF signal interference.
