CAT-HT-508-2830-12 Parallel Action Hand Tool

Samtec CAT-HT-508-2830-12 Parallel Action Hand Tool is a non-adjustable tool designed to crimp CC508 (B1SD/B1SDT Series) contacts on 28AWG and 30AWG wire. This tool can accept contacts directly from a reel. To use the CAT-HT-508-2830-12 tool, squeeze the handles until the tool ratchet releases, allowing the handles to fully open. Slide the contact carrier strip under the contact holder plate and align the carrier strip feed holes with the locating ball detent features. This hand tool is designed for a double carrier strip terminal. The top carrier strip cut-off tool separates the terminal from the strip one strip-feed distance before the crimp station. Next, cycle the handle one or two times so that the top carrier strip is separated from the terminal. Ensure the contact is positioned correctly and ready to crimp. Close the hand tool partially until the first click of the ratchet and insert a pre-stripped wire over the contact crimp barrels. Align the wire in the groove on the locator plate and close the handles together until the ratchet process has completed the cycle. Once the handles release to the fully opened position, remove the crimped contact from the tool. Manually feed the strip to locate the next contact for crimping.
