Battery Management System

Bourns Battery Management Systems (BMS) manage the state of health (SoC) while charging and discharging battery systems. BMS components feature shunt resistors, high-voltage signals, power transformers, and shielded power inductors. Current sense resistors are AEC-Q200 qualified with a continuous current of 1000A and a low 50µΩ resistance. Bourns signal transformers include common-mode chokes for noise rejection for BMS applications. The shielded power inductors and high creepage high clearance (HCT) transformers are suitable for automotive power conversion, DC-DC converters, power supplies, and communication electronics.

SM91514AL BMS Transformer

Bourns SM91514AL Battery Management System (BMS) Transformer is AEC-Q200 compliant and includes common mode chokes for noise rejection in BMS applications. This single-channel functional insulation transformer features full automation of each key manufacturing process, including pin winding and laser stripping. It offers a working voltage up to 1000V_DC and Hi-Pot isolation voltage up to 4300V_DC. It supports serial daisy chain / IsoSPI communication and has an expanded operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. Bourns SM91514AL BMS Transformer is developed for use with the NXP MC33771C series and the Maxim Max17853 IC.
