TPS54824EVM-779 Step-Down Converter EVM

Texas Instruments TPS54824EVM-779 Step-Down Converter Evaluation Module (EVM) demonstrates the small printed circuit board areas that may be achieved when designing with the TPS54824. The TPS54824 is a synchronous buck converter designed to provide up to an 8A output. The Texas Instruments TPS54824EVM-779 generates a 1.8V output voltage from a nominal 12V input. The input (VIN) is rated for 4.5V to 17V and the RT/CLK pin is configured for a 700kHz switching frequency. The high-side and low-side MOSFETs are incorporated inside the TPS54824 package along with the gate drive circuitry. The low drain-to-source on-resistance of the MOSFET allows the TPS54824 to achieve high efficiencies and helps keep the junction temperature low at high output currents. An external divider allows for an adjustable output voltage.
