PAC1711 Single-Channel Power Monitor

Microchip PAC1711 Single-Channel Power Monitor is a single-channel energy monitor with a bus-voltage monitor and a current-sense amplifier that feeds a single 12-bit-resolution ADC. The device is designed for high-side current sensing, and the digital circuitry performs power calculations and energy accumulation. This feature enables energy monitoring with integration periods up to one year or longer. The system host or embedded controller can retrieve sense resistor voltage, bus voltage, and accumulated proportional power from registers. The device includes an alert system that generates alerts when it detects voltage, current, or power excursions with up to two alert pins. The sampling rate and energy integration period can be controlled over I2C or SMBus. One-shot measurements and other controls can also be configured via SMBus or I2C. The Microchip PAC1711 uses real-time calibration to minimize offset error. No input filters are required for this device. Built-in adjustable averaging delivers very low-noise, high-resolution measurement results.
