I/O Expanders

Diodes Incorporated I/O Expanders provide up to 16-bits of General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) expansion for I2C-bus/SMBus applications. These expanders include up to two 8-bit registers to configure the input and output. Diodes Incorporated I/O expanders also include up to two dedicated 8-bit registers to configure the polarity. The data for each input or output is kept in the corresponding input port or output port registers. These registers can be read by the system master. The I/O expanders feature high driving capability, low power supply, individual I/O configuration, 5V tolerance, and smaller packaging. These expanders provide a simple solution when additional I/O is needed for ACPI power switches, sensors, pushbuttons, LEDs, and fans.
